THREE REASONS WHY JUDGE DIMPLE MALHOTRA IS THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR THIS COURT
EXPERIENCE: County Court at Law 4 is the Domestic Violence Court, and Judge Dimple Malhotra has over 20 years of experience working on domestic violence issues. This is critical because she regularly makes risk of lethality assessments on the bench.
PROUD AAPI and IMMIGRANT: Judge Dimple Malhotra is the first South Asian and first female AAPI elected judge in Travis County history. Austin has a significant AAPI population and our judicial system should reflect our diversity. Her multicultural upbringing brings a much needed perspective to the bench.
COMPASSION: Judge Malhotra was a witness to domestic violence at a young age and learned early on that violence is a learned behavior that can be unlearned with the proper rehabilitation and treatment. She is dedicated to helping people break the cycle of domestic violence and learn how to be in healthy relationships.

MAKING AAPI HISTORY
Judge Dimple Malhotra is the first and only person of Asian Indian descent elected to a judicial seat in Travis County history.
She is also the first and only female Asian American elected judge in Travis County history.
AAPI members make up 6.1% of the population, but just 0.9% of elected leaders across all levels of government.
COMPASSIONATE
Judge Dimple Malhotra’s dedication to domestic violence work was born out of her own personal experience dealing with this issue. That experience showed her first-hand how abuse is a learned behavior that in many cases can be unlearned. She understands how rehabilitation can break the cycle of abuse and lead to healthy relationships.
PROUD IMMIGRANT
An immigrant who grew up in the US with a family environment deeply rooted in South Asian culture, Judge Dimple Malhotra’s life is a blend of Asian and American life experiences. Today, she brings these experiences to the bench to ensure the judicial system better represents all of us.
