MAKING AAPI HISTORY

Judge Dimple Malhotra is the first and only person of Asian Indian descent elected to a judicial seat in Travis County history.

She is also the first and only female Asian American elected judge in Travis County history.

AAPI members make up 6.1% of the population, but just 0.9% of elected leaders across all levels of government.

COMPASSIONATE

Judge Dimple Malhotra’s dedication to domestic violence work was born out of her own personal experience dealing with this issue. That experience showed her first-hand how abuse is a learned behavior that in many cases can be unlearned. She understands how rehabilitation can break the cycle of abuse and lead to healthy relationships.
